Greeting
Welcome to the website of the Montreal Korean School!
Our Montreal Korean School, established by Dr. Jeong Yeong-seop on September 16, 1978, during his tenure as a professor at the University of Montreal, proudly celebrates its 47th anniversary this year, despite various challenges faced at the time. The Montreal Korean School was founded with a sense of mission to educate the second and third generations of Koreans, helping them establish their identity as Koreans through the education of their mother tongue, Korean, and traditional Korean culture. Furthermore, it aims to nurture them as members of the North American community in Quebec.
We have heard reports from the Multicultural Federation that immigrant children who understand their homeland's language, culture, and history are adapting well to the local society and actively participating in various fields. The many students who have graduated from our Montreal Korean School and are now thriving on international stages, including Korea and Canada, serve as evidence supporting these reports.
Our Montreal Korean School is recognized as a non-profit organization by the Canadian government and has been accredited as a regular school by the Quebec government. Additionally, it is a school where students can earn Korean language credits recognized by the Quebec Ministry of Education (up to 8 credits over two years for Secondary 4 and 5 students, with a maximum of 4 credits per year). These credits will greatly assist students when advancing to higher education and will maximize the advantages gained from being proficient in Korean when entering the job market.
Although immigrant life is not easy to settle into, we look forward to our children's bright future and strive to ensure that they can firmly root themselves as proud children of Korea in Canada. The teachers at our Montreal Korean School are committed to providing quality education through a well-rounded curriculum, ensuring that the precious time and effort of parents are not wasted. In our Montreal Korean School, equipped with excellent faculty and top-notch facilities, we also prepare various extracurricular activities such as music, arts, taekwondo, and cultural lectures for parents to meet the expectations of our community.
At our Montreal Korean School, we aim to raise outstanding Koreans, trusting in our teachers and following their guidance, while teachers impart knowledge with love. We encourage parents to trust the school and voluntarily participate in educational activities, working together to cultivate the best Montreal Korean School. We ask for your continued support and encouragement, and we wish for happiness and joy to always fill the homes of the Montreal Korean community.

About School
The Korean Language School of Greater Montreal is a non-profit organization and one of the oldest Korean Schools in Canada. The Korean Language School has been using the campus of Marianopolis College since 1978 and followed them to their new location.
Many of the 2nd generation children of Korean immigrants grew up at this school and have become major members of the Montreal community. Nowadays, many of the graduates play important roles in places all around the world, including Canada, the United States, Europe and Asia. It is not rare to find the children of graduates learning Hangul and Korean traditions in this school. It is the place to share our language, culture, and roots. At the same time, it is the place where Canadians can learn the Korean language and culture. Today, they come in increasing numbers to learn our Korean culture with interest about K-Pop and the Korean wave.
The Korean Language School of Greater Montreal has been teaching French and English to new immigrants and has also helped in their adaptation to the country. Moreover, immigrant students can receive up to 12 credits from our School, fully acknowledged by the Government of Quebec. This benefits the adaptation of our immigrants and makes it easier for our students.
The Korean Language School of Greater Montreal is a great place for young Koreans to preserve and strengthen their roots and identities through the education of our language and culture. It also gives the opportunity to Montrealers to enroll in the various Korean cultural and language classes that we offer.
