Greeting from principal

Greeting

It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the Korean Language School of Greater Montreal.

In the nearly 40-year history of the School, our main mission has always been not only to provide the children of Korean heritage with lessons in Korean language, history and culture, but also to reach out to the Montreal society to promote understanding between our two great cultures. I am pleased to report that it has been a great success.

We strive to offer a learning environment that is exciting and meaningful. It is our philosophy that to learn a language is to learn the culture. In this regard, you will find that the School offers much more than language lessons.

All of us at the Korean School of Greater Montreal passionately believe that the Great Cultural Mosaic of this country is the best way forward to achieve peace and harmony, and to draw best from us all. In this spirit, I extend the warmest welcome to you.

I hope that you will join us.

About School

The Korean Language School of Greater Montreal is a non-profit organization and one of the oldest Korean Schools in Canada. The Korean Language School has been using the campus of Marianopolis College since 1978 and followed them to their new location.

Many of the 2nd generation children of Korean immigrants grew up at this school and have become major members of the Montreal community. Nowadays, many of the graduates play important roles in places all around the world, including Canada, the United States, Europe and Asia. It is not rare to find the children of graduates learning Hangul and Korean traditions in this school. It is the place to share our language, culture, and roots. At the same time, it is the place where Canadians can learn the Korean language and culture. Today, they come in increasing numbers to learn our Korean culture with interest about K-Pop and the Korean wave.

The Korean Language School of Greater Montreal has been teaching French and English to new immigrants and has also helped in their adaptation to the country. Moreover, immigrant students can receive up to 12 credits from our School, fully acknowledged by the Government of Quebec. This benefits the adaptation of our immigrants and makes it easier for our students.

The Korean Language School of Greater Montreal is a great place for young Koreans to preserve and strengthen their roots and identities through the education of our language and culture. It also gives the opportunity to Montrealers to enroll in the various Korean cultural and language classes that we offer.
